Preparatory work
(1) Clean the road surface: Use a broom or other tools to sweep the road surface at the measurement point clean.
(2) Level the instrument.
① Place the instrument on the road measurement point and make the swing direction of the pendulum consistent with the direction of traffic.
② Turn the screw on the base plate to make the level bubble centered.
Methods and Steps
Preparations
(1) Check the sensitivity of the zero adjustment of the pendulum instrument and conduct regular instrument calibration.
(2) According to the method in Appendix A of this procedure, select the test section for sampling. On the cross-section, the measurement points should be selected at the wheel track of the traffic lane, and the distance from the edge of the road surface should be no less than 1 meter.
(3) Zero adjustment.
(4) Check the sliding length
Repeat the above steps until the sliding length meets the 126mm requirement.
(5) Fix the pendulum on the right armature and position it in the horizontal release position. Set the pointer to the point where it is parallel to the pendulum rod on the right end.
(6) Spray water on the measurement points to make the road surface moist.
(7) Press the release switch on the right armature to make the pendulum slide on the road surface. When the pendulum rod falls back, catch it with your hand, read the value but do not record it. Then place the pendulum rod and the pointer back in the horizontal release position.
(8) Repeat steps (6) and (7) five times and record the pendulum values measured each time.
The difference between the maximum and minimum values among the five measured values should not exceed 3. If the difference is greater than three, check the cause and repeat all the operations again until it meets the requirements.
Take the average of the five measured values as the pavement anti-skid value (i.e., pendulum value) of the single point (rounded to the nearest integer).
(9) Use a thermometer to measure and record the temperature of the wet road surface at the measurement point, accurate to 1℃.
(10) Each measurement point consists of three single points. Therefore, it is necessary to conduct parallel measurements of the above method at the same measurement point three times, and take the average of the three measurement results as the representative value of the measurement point (accurate to). All three single points should be located on the skid mark band, and the distance between the single points is 3-5m. The position of the measurement point is indicated by the position of the middle single point.
